Dr. Troop returned to Ardmore following his medical education to join his father at the Arthritis Clinic in 1989, bringing a surgical approach to the treatment of arthritis. In 1998, the Arthritis Clinic transformed into the Bone & Joint Clinic of Southern Oklahoma and in 2002 moved to its new office on 12th Ave. NW. Dr. Troop’s practice emphasizes joint replacement and sports medicine. In addition to the standard total knee and shoulder replacements, he performs partial knee replacements and the more advanced (reverse) total shoulder replacement. He also performs the advanced anterior approach total hip replacement and computer image guided total knee replacement. He has been the team physician for Southeastern Oklahoma State University for almost 20 years, caring for injured athletes in a variety of sports at the university. He is also on the sidelines for the majority of Ardmore Tiger football games. He also enjoys taking care of rodeo athletes. He frequently attends the Association Rodeo Physicians (Justin Sports Medicine Group) meetings. He has worked in conjunction with Mark Sheaman, PA-C for 24 years.
